'Yardie mi da o, mi o ri' : A tribute to Late Umaru Yar adua.

'Baba go slow' 'yaddie' 'snail' or whatever u call him. The announcement of the death of musa yaradua came to me as a shock as i had believed d media lies that he was on his way to recovery and even updated my status to that effect. So my natural reaction was anger at how the late president's terminal illness was used selfishly by his supposed 'friends and family'.
However, as the anger subsides, i can now mourn a man whom i had much fun joking about.:-). As he coughed frequently, i always added 'coughs' intermittently in jokes about him and it cracked me and you reading this, yes you!:-).
Yardie, had poor health from the period he was governor, reportedly taking long walks with aides to purchase cigarettes. Should he've taken the presidency ticket? Heck, who wouldn't?:-).

While he was president, i was one of those who felt OBJ would have been better cos he reversed policies, sent d rufai and ribadu's packing and basically sent us back to d beginning. Add to that the stock market crashing. But reports say his presidency was hijacked since 2008.
There's really not much to say about him, i just miss a man i made fun of and an human being.
I've been thinking of what will happen to his married off daughters and if suitors will come for the remaining daughters:-). How will turai adapt? What if she was framed? I've been there before, pple can be devilish. Her image is in bad disrepair. I feel for her.
Now, we've President Goodluck Jonathan, who's also looking like a 'go slow', i wonder if he'll make a good sport:-). What's there to make fun of? That he wears a funny hat and doesn't have d charisma to inspire the nation? Or that he's a Phd holder in zoology? I mean zoology?:-). Please!:-). SSS na joke o! Abeg:-).

Yardie, sad to see u go, but now u rest in peace. Up there in heaven, you look down and say 'hehehe, fellow Nigerian, *coughs* dey make fun of me o, at least i make am, d highest post in the land fa? What'll Za do?'. Baba go slow, enjoy, adieu:-).

YARADUA IS DEAD

Alhaji Umaru Yar'Adua (16 August 1951 – 5 May 2010) died Wednesday 5th at the Aso Rock presidential villa in the capital Abuja after a protracted illness of kidney and heart ailments.

The 58-year-old ex-president of Nigeria returned to Nigeria in February after three months of medical treatment in Kind Fad Hospital, Saudi Arabia, but was never seen in public since then.

Vice President Goodluck Jonathan was appointed as Nigeria's acting president back in February, but he has had little time to turnaround an electoral system known for being plagued by corruption.

Jonathan has been sworn in now as the president until the next elections scheduled to be held by April 2011.

Seven days of national mourning has been declared during which the Nigerian national flag will fly at half mast..
